Privacy policy
StoreBuild is built to collect as little as possible. This page explains exactly what happens when you use the site.

No accounts, no forms
You can use every page and tool without signing up. We do not ask for your name or email address.
Platform quiz and cost calculator
Both tools run entirely in your browser. Your answers and numbers are not sent to us or stored by us.
Visiting the website
Like any website, the servers that deliver StoreBuild receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. Our hosting and database providers process this on our behalf to deliver and secure the site. We do not use it to identify you.
Legal basis (where GDPR applies): our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
AI Advisor
When you ask for advice, your answers and the optional idea text are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a reply. We do not store them. Please don't enter personal or confidential information in the idea box.
To prevent abuse, our server converts your IP address into a keyed code (a pseudonymous identifier) that changes every day, and counts requests against it (5 per 10 minutes, 20 per day). The IP address itself is not stored. This code is not fully anonymous — it is still linked to your connection for that day — and it is used only for rate limiting. The counters are deleted automatically after about two days.
Google receives the request under the Gemini API terms. How Google may use and retain request content depends on the type of Gemini API service we use; Google's Gemini API terms and privacy policy describe this.
Legal basis (where GDPR applies): our legitimate interest in answering the request you make and in protecting the service from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The Advisor does not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Analytics (only with your consent)
If enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and which partner buttons are clicked (platform, page and button position). It loads only after you choose “Accept”. If you decline, it never loads.
Legal basis (where GDPR applies): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time using “Cookie preferences” in the footer; this doesn't affect processing that happened before.
Preferences stored in your browser
Your cookie choice and, if you close a partner suggestion, a 7-day reminder are kept in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.
Partner links
When you click a partner link you leave StoreBuild. The partner and its affiliate network (Impact) may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Recipients and international transfers
The recipients described above are our hosting and database providers, Google (Gemini API and, only with consent, Google Analytics) and, after you click a partner link, that partner and Impact. Some of them may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, such transfers rely on safeguards such as adequacy decisions (for example the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified) or Standard Contractual Clauses.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
How long data is kept
Advisor rate-limit counters: about two days. Advisor answers and idea text: not stored by us. Analytics data, if you consent: kept according to the retention period set in Google Analytics. Browser preferences: until you clear your browser storage (the partner-suggestion reminder expires after 7 days).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, we may not be able to link data to you; we will tell you if so.
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. US state privacy laws may give residents similar rights to know and delete personal information.

StoreBuild is intended for adults planning an online business and is not directed at children.
